Chiusa, the city of artists in South Tyrol

Narrow alleys, romantic atmosphere and elegant shops

Chiusa, the city of artists in the heart of South Tyrol will take you back to the past with its shops and establishments set up in the ancient houses of the town centre. It is quite rightly defined as a city of culture, and even Albrecht Dürer stopped in Chiusa during his grand tour of Italy. For this reason, the town is also renowned as “Dürer’s town”.

Its embattled facades, wide bow windows and traditional insignia of the inns makes Chiusa one of Italy’s most beautiful ancient towns.

Some of the many tourist attractions in Chiusa are the Sabiona Monastery, the Church of the Apostles, Dürer’s stone and the City Museum.
